This beautiful girl has such a story to share.
Dixy arrived into our care with a bilateral hernia.
We often see hernias in dogs used for breeding.
Off to the vets for spay and repair we received a call to say that Dixy was indeed pregnant and that the litter of pups had dropped into the hernias.
Pregnant with 11 pups she was in surgery for quite a while, it was touch and go for her.
The wonderful Cahir in downe vets preformed surgery and managed to repair her hernias whilst saving the pups lives.
A complicated surgery which involved each pup being placed back through the hernia and into her womb.
On 27th July Dixy gave birth to 5 beautiful babies, sadly 2 were stillborn and 1 little boy grew his wings shortly afterwards.
A quick X-ray after delivery showed that she was carrying only 5 and that some of the pups had passed and reAbsorbed.
A great mum her job is now done.
It’s her time to find that family who will love her as much as we do.
She’s around 3/4 years old, a Snchzauer. A gentle timid girl we are looking for a home with another dog, either male or female.
A quiet settled home with no younger children (10+)
A super secure garden
Dixy deserves to spend the rest of her life being loved and cherished.
