Time to introduce you all to a very special pair. Callie and Tori were first introduced 6 months ago. They have become best of friends .
Both were up for Rehoming separately but over recent weeks we have debated and debated to look for a home together or separate.
Watching the bond they share and closely monitoring them we need to do right and find them a home together.
Callie arrived with us in March 2020, a thin, terrified bundle. Her coat was falling out in places, I will never forget the look of sheer terror on her face as she arrived, by the following day she had given up.
She was truly a broken dog.
Her life before joining us was horrendous, she lived in an old piggery, used for breeding.
Dirty filthy sawdust covered the floors and little food, no human interaction, Callie was born there so knew nothing of how life should be.
No one ever talked to her other than to shout or slap her, she didn’t understand our soft voices.
She couldn’t understand the simplest of things the food dish terrified her, we had to resort to feeding on the tiled floor.
The first 4 weeks were awful, she was so traumatised, we sat with her and cried, not just for her but for every other animal out there who we couldn’t help, those born into a life of misery.
Our team worked really hard but nothing seemed to work, she just didn’t want to live, she showed interest in nothing.
A few weeks in and we began to see the little changes, although terrified she was beginning to show interest, we still couldn’t touch her but the slightest eye movement when other dogs come past.
Every time a new achievement, eating from a dish, finally about 14 weeks in we found her in bed.
I can’t tell you how happy everyone of the team were, we were finally beginning to see Callie come alive.
A year in, a year of ups and downs, good days and bad days were it felt like 2 steps forward and 22 backwards.
Our beautiful girl has truly come alive.
It’s so wonderful to see her running outside, to see her enjoy life.
She’s a sassy girl, cheeky through and through. Adores other dogs and will soon let us know if we are late with feeding time.
It’s taken a full year to help our beautiful girl, she’s ready to grow her wings now and move on to the next stage of her Life.
Our very special girl is going to look for her forever home.
Tori was on the run for many weeks, living life on the run was tough on her.
She was knocked down twice that we know off. Her pelvis was damaged and healed in the wring way, she now walks with a limp.
Around 8 years old she’s a very quiet settled girl, she can be super shy but has learnt to trust us.
Tori snd Callie are as different as chalk and cheese but don’t they always say opposites attract.
Callie’s and Toris essential criteria
